Yes. Documentary. Again. A few days ago Garage Magazine released a short documentary "Take My Picture" that centers around street style celebrities and fashion bloggers phenomenon. Tim Blanks, Tommy Ton, Susie Bubble and many more got into the debate about "peacocking" before fashion shows. This encouraged me to rewatch another documentary BILL CUNNINGHAM NEW YORK about the man who actually invented street style photography.
If you have ever seen a person in a blue jacket on a bike and with a camera in NYC, there's 90% chance it's Bill.
Bill Cunningham is the father of the streetstyle photography. Another Harvard dropout, he first started in advertising, but soon left and started his own hat business. His pretty successful business ended when he was drafted to serve in the U.S army. He returned and took up a job as a fashion journalist at the Chicago Tribune. There he introduced Azzedine Alaia and Jean-Paul Gaultier to American consumers and, finally, transitioned to photography. His street style photography was also featured in Women's Wear Daily, Details and still is in the New York Times. He is the living proof that doing what you love matters more than how much you earn.

ON STREET STYLE:
The best fashion show is definitely on the streets - always has been always will be
ON FASHION:
Fashion is an armour to survive the reality of everyday life
ON CREATIVITY:
See, a lot of people have taste, but they don't have the dearing to be creative.
ON WORK ETHIC:
You can't report to the public unless you have seen it all. People just go off and say what they think, well, it isn't really what I think it's what I see
I wouldn't even take a glass of water. I have something to eat before I go to work and that's it. Period. It's keeping a distance from what you are doing, so you could be more objective
ON MONEY:
If you don't take money, they can't tell you what to do, kid. That's the key to all things. Don't touch money.
Money is the cheapest thing. Liberty and freedom are the most expensive.
ON PARIS FASHION WEEK:
Fashion week here is exception. It educates the eye.
ON STREET STYLE PHOTOGRAPHY:
It has to be done just discretely and quitely, invisible - I think is the word.
